UK's waste company illegally exports 1,000 tonnes to India
During the latest court trials, jurors were told of Biffa's monthly contracts of £39,500 to shift the waste to India and Indonesia.
One of the biggest waste companies in the UK has been fined £1.5 million for illegally exporting rubbish to India and Indonesia.
Biffa Waste Services shipped 1000 tonnes of household waste from Southampton but labeled it as paper. The export of unsorted household recycling waste from the UK has been banned since 1994.
