The Royal College of Surgeons of England collaborates with Rela Hospital in Chennai to offer an interactive course on "Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patients" (CCrISP) and another course for practicing doctors in the state called "Systematic Training in Acute Illness Recognition and Treatment" (START). It is worth noting that the START course is being introduced for the very first time in India.

This interactive course (which includes essential pre-course e-learning) addresses the practical skills and information required to care for surgical patients, especially those who are suffering or at danger of deterioration. These programs are for preselected applicants who have finished their MBBS and have a minimum of two years of surgical experience.
