United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on Friday (Sept 17) appointed Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi as a Sustainable Development Goals Advocate along with STEM activist Valentina Muñoz Rabana, Microsoft’s president, Brad Smith, and Korean pop group BLACKPINK, according to a news release issued by the UN.

“The SDG Advocates use their considerable spheres of influence to reach new constituencies to act now and keep the promise of the Sustainable Development Goals for people and for the planet,” the Secretary-General said announcing the new advocates.
