The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution stating that everyone has a right to a healthy environment. Supporters of the resolution believe this is a crucial step in countering the alarming declination of the natural world.

The General Assembly of the UN declared that environmental degradation and climate change were two of the most serious threats to the future of mankind in a resolution that was adopted on July 28 at UN headquarters in New York City.
