After a week of turmoil in Afghanistan, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) convened for its second meeting on the country in a span of 10 days, as the Taliban took control of Kabul.

"The parties concerned" are urged to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of diplomats and United Nations personnel, said India's Permanent Representative T.S. Tirumurti in a statement issued on Monday. His call was for Afghan women's voices to be heard, as well as Afghan children's aspirations and minorities' rights to be respected.
