Flipkart's Women's Day message criticized for reinforcing stereotypes; company apologizes

Following widespread criticism and booing, the e-commerce site recognized its error and apologized on Twitter.

The world commemorated International Women's Day on Mar. 8,2022, honoring women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. Women were spotted waving placards and banners across the country, claiming equal stake in everything. "Break the Bias" was also a rallying cry for the movement.

Meanwhile in India, Flipkart's message wishing International Women's Day has sparked controversy after the e-commerce site urged consumers to buy kitchen appliances at a discounted price to commemorate the day.
