Ameet Goyal, an ophthalmologist in New York, has been sentenced to 96 months of imprisonment for committing a health care fraud scheme.

Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, charged Goyal for falsely billing patients and insurance companies millions of dollars, while also for fraudulently obtaining two government-guaranteed loans intended to help small businesses during the pandemic.
