The US intelligence community, in an annual threat assessment proposed to the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday highlighted that following the clash in 2020, tensions between India and China are said to be tense. It also expressed fear about a future crisis involving India and Pakistan.

The intelligence body, in its report, also said that both India and China's increasingly broad military posture along the border raises the risk of armed conflict between the two nuclear powers, which could include credible threats to US interests and therefore requires American intervention.
