India is preparing to send some relics of Buddha to Mongolia in the coming week in an effort to re-energize the bond between India and Mongolia.

With more than 53 percent of the Mongolian population following Buddhism, this move aims to strengthen relations as well as build up India’s ties with East Asian countries. The relics will be displayed during the Mongolian Buddha Purnima celebrations.
