As part of its China-plus policy, India's pharmaceutical department is seeking to attract huge Japanese Multinational Corporations (MNC) to use India as a worldwide manufacturing supply base.

India is looking to use its alliance with Japan to produce medical equipment as part of the five-year $42 billion investment and financial plan announced by Prime Ministers Fumio Kishida of Japan and Narendra Modi in March this year.

Patients monitoring systems, cardiac catheters, dialyzers, specialty needles, thermometers, glucometers, and personal weighing scales are examples of such devices.
