IPL speed discovery: Umran Malik from Srinagar

If there is one sensation that came out of the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) T-20, it is the 21-year-old fast bowler Umran Malik. The boy from Jammu played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Umran stunned all with his debut IPL match on Oct 3 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowling a delivery at more than 150 kmph speed.

Virat Kohli, captain of the Indian cricket team and Royal Challengers Bangalore, said: “This tournament throws up talent every year. Good to see a guy bowling at 150 clicks. It is important to understand the progress of individuals from here on.”
