Indian Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar during a bilateral meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart A. K. Abdul Momen emphasised that the proper management of India's shared border with Bangladesh is a top concern, and the two nations should work together to achieve that crime-free border.

Jaishankar remarked that the Border Guarding Forces remain dedicated to tackling trans-border crimes after co-chairing the 7th India-Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission (JCC). He also expressed India's support in response to the catastrophic floods in northern Bangladesh.
