Twenty jailed Indian fishermen released by Pakistan

The Foreign Office in a statement asserted, “These fishermen have been repatriated via Wagah Border to India.”

Twenty Indian fishermen from Gujarat, who had been imprisoned for the last five years at the Malir district jail in Karachi’s Landhi region, were released on Sunday. They had allegedly fished illegally in Pakistan’s waters.

The fishermen crossed the Wagah Border on Monday evening as they were repatriated to their homeland. They were sent to Lahore on their way to the Wagah border.
