India and Australia agreed to intensify their defence cooperation on Wednesday when the Australian deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles came to visit India. They also decided to keep pushing forward with efforts to achieve their shared goal of a secure, open, and open Indo-Pacific in the face of Chinese aggression.

The two countries want to intensify their defence through combat exercises, intelligence-sharing, reciprocal logistics, and military-industrial cooperation.
