Father of white Revolution: Dr. Verghese Kurien
The father of India's white revolution was born in Kerala, on November 26, 1921, and died on September 9, 2012, at the age of 90.

Milk is a need in everyone's life; it is the second most consumed beverage after water. Every year on Nov. 26, we commemorate National Milk Day since Dr. Verghese Kurien is also known as the "Father of the white Revolution" as he was born on that day, and today honors his 100th birthday.

Kurien was named the "Father of the white Revolution" and the "Milkman of India" for these and other contributions to the dairy sector. As a result, he received several prizes, including the Padma Vibhushan (1999), the World Food Prize (1989), the Krishi Ratna (1986), the Padma Bhushan (1966), the Padma Shri (1965), and the Ramon Magsaysay Award (1963), among others.
