India witnesses a steady rise in Omicron Cases with the tally rising to over 400 on 25 December. Delhi recorded 125 fresh cases, the highest ever daily Covid case count in six months. The national capital has over 56 active Omicron cases according to a news release by the Union Health Ministry.

A notice says, 'Due to COVID-19 pandemic visitors are not allowed to visit the Sacred Heart Cathedral and its premises in New Delhi on 24 and 25 December'.

The Delhi government has banned all festival related gatherings and celebrations. No cultural programs are permitted to take place during Christmas and New Year. The state authorities have instructed officials and Police to ensure that people follow social-distancing norms and wear masks.
