US Congressman applauds Sikhs for their philanthropic activities

“The First District is fortunate to have a Sikh community that plays a prominent philanthropic role by giving back to those less fortunate."

An influential American Congressman has applauded the Sikh community for their philanthropic activities in the community they live in.

Congressman Richard Neal, who represents the First Congressional District of Massachusetts, in his remarks in the US House of Representatives said this while greeting the Sikhs on the occasion of Vaisakhi.

“The Sikh New Year Festival is a time for 30 million Sikhs around the world to celebrate the solar new year and reflect on the rich history of their religion,” he said.
