US Senator moves resolution to commemorate 10th anniversary of Oak Creek Sikh Temple shooting

As the tenth anniversary of the deadliest act of anti-Sikh hate in U.S. history approaches, Sikh communities across the U.S are organising a series of in-person events to commemorate the occasion.

Democratic Senator from Wisconsin, Tammy Baldwin introduced a legislation in the Senate to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the shooting that took place at a Sikh Gurdwara in Oak Creek, Wisconsin on Aug.5, 2012.

In her resolution Baldwin urges the senate to strongly condemn the attack and honor the memory of Paramjit Kaur Saini, Suveg Singh Khattra, Satwant Singh Kaleka, Ranjit Singh, Sita Singh, Prakash Singh, and Baba Punjab Singh, who lost their lives during the attack.
