The United States has waived the requirement of in-person interviews for work-visa applicants in a bid to reduce the wait time and ease the visa issuance process.

The US State Department is temporarily removing the in-person interview requirement for a range of visa applicants including the one for students and H-1B workers during the entire year of 2022. Applicants for these visas will not have to attend an in-person interview at the US Consulate– usually the final step prior to the issuance of a visa.
