Vice President begins the first-ever high-level visit to Gabon

Naidu commended Gabon for supporting India's ambition for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council during his first leg of a three-nation tour to Gabon, Senegal, and Qatar.

The Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu began his first-ever visit to the country Gabon with a series of high-level meetings while expressing India’s willingness to collaborate with the central African country in various sectors and expand regional and multilateral cooperation.

Naidu, who arrived in the Gabonese capital on Monday, is on the first part of his three-nation tour of Gabon, Senegal, and Qatar. He met with Prime Minister of Gabon, Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda, after which they held delegation-level discussions. The two presidents also discussed matters of common concern in multilateral forums, including the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
