World Wetlands Day
According to the UN, 3 percent of the world's wetlands have vanished in the previous 50 years.
Every year on Feb. 2, World Wetlands Day is commemorated to raise global awareness about the importance of wetlands, not only for humans but also for the planet Earth. The day also marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on Feb. 2, 1971.
#WorldWetlandsDay, celebrated every year on 2 February, is now an official UN international day. Celebrated since 1997, the Day promotes the critical importance of these ecosystems. The theme in 2022 is an appeal to protect and restore wetlands.https://t.co/zUotdrY4RO pic.twitter.com/rQItvP3zYf
