WTO's 12th Ministerial Conference: Indian delegation to focus on its opinions and demands

The primary demand that will be put forth by the delegation is for the WTO to find a solution for nations to be able to provide bigger subsidies to their farmers even though WTO considers it to be market-distorting.

India got recognized for its stand at the World Trade Organization (WTO) that nations should be able to limit exports to the World Food Program (WFP) and utilize these stocks locally to maintain food security for its own people.

Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs & Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, along with the Indian delegation will be attending WTO’S 12th Ministerial conference, which is a three-day conference of trade ministers in Geneva from June 12 to 15.
