YouTube creator’s ecosystem contributed INR6,800 crore to India’s economy in 2020: Report

YouTube generates substantial revenue for creators, artists, and media companies, who in turn support a broad ecosystem of employees and businesses in India, says report.

The YouTube creative ecosystem contributed INR 6,800 Crore to the Indian economy in 2020 and supported 683,900 jobs said a recent study by Oxford economics.

Titled “A platform for Indian Opportunity — Assessing the economic, societal, and cultural impact of YouTube in India,” the study analyses the impact of the Google-owned video sharing platform on the lives of the Indian population.
